About Small Profit Tools

We build free calculators for small business owners who need a straight answer about margins, pricing, payroll costs, and sales tax, and who would rather type three numbers than read a thousand-word guide.

Why this site exists

Most pricing and accounting information online is written for accountants, not for the people who actually run the business. It arrives with terminology, no clear answer, and no way to check the working.

These tools exist to close that gap. Every calculator gives you the number immediately, shows its working, and explains what that number means in plain language. If a result would surprise you, the page says so and tells you what to check.

How the tools work

Where our numbers come from

Tax rates, minimum wage figures, and filing thresholds are taken from official government sources: state revenue departments, the IRS, and the US Department of Labor. Every tool that uses this kind of data displays the date it was last reviewed.

Tax rules change. We review the rates on each tool periodically, but we cannot guarantee they are current to the day. Where a rate matters to a filing or a contract, verify it against the source before relying on it.

What we do not do

How the site is funded

Advertising, and affiliate commissions when we recommend a service we genuinely use ourselves. Some links to third-party services are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you purchase through them, at no additional cost to you. We mark these clearly. Affiliate relationships never influence the numbers our calculators produce.

Corrections

If you find a calculation error, an outdated rate, or a claim that does not hold up, please tell us. Corrections are welcome and will be made. Write to hello@linwt.top.
